Censorship: Regression explores the tension between biology, language, and censorship. In the background, the sequence of the NOVA1 gene, associated with brain development and the emergence of language, unfolds as a symbol of progress and human evolution.

Black forms obscure the genetic code, acting as a metaphor for censorship that suppresses ideas, identities, and forms of expression before they can fully emerge. The work reflects on how repression can hinder progress and constrain critical thought.

Censorship thus becomes a form of regression—an obstacle to freedom of expression and to the development of human thought.
